I agree with you it is not up us to judge these people. My point is they should never be allowed around young children. They are sick people and should be dealt with accordingly.

My apology to Celia her quote was "In some cases, yes, maybe, the molester has been DF.... to be reinstated a few months later...and nobody in the congregation was told about his "sin",
My point was that if a person is known to have a sexually abused a young child, he should be dealt with criminally and be sent for professional counseling. They should never be allowed around young children. The elders are within their rights to deal with him within the congregation but they have to realize the seriousness of this type of sickness. It is not good enough to just be disciplined in the congregation and keep secret away from the rest of the brothers and sisters.

I think the whole point here is not that the local elders don't deal with the problem and DF the individual. Like the problem with the Catholic Church, the JW are hesitant to report such individuals to the authorities. What that person has done, he/she should be dealt with criminally. Like Celia remarked these individuals are sometimes moved to other congregations and because they have been dealt with by the elders, their sin has been covered up. You could then have a pedophile move in to your congregation and not knowing it has them playing with your children. These type of people are sick, good at manipulating and lying. They should not be around young children. They, the pedophile are good at putting themselves into positions of trust around young children. So no matter how much counseling and repentance I would never trust them around children. This is very much the same problem that the Catholic Church is having.

since the sect's leadership had painted itself into a corner a change had to come about.
governing body members were required to be of the "anointed" class, composed of men who became witnesses as adults before the year 1935. this excludes younger men, and limits the governing body to an older group each year.
few men in their 80s or 90s are up to running a corporation.. during the mid-1990s the witnesses attempted to sidestep the problem by beginning to appoint a few younger men who had earlier declared themselves to be of the anointed.
I am sure that they are not stupid and can see if they don't infuse the GB with younger members that they are domed. The only question any "honest hearted" person has to asked themselves is, how can they the GB claim they are spirit directed if the majority are non remnants??? I am sure we will see "new light" on this issue and open it up more GB positions to the "great crowd" in the near future.

My apologies, I didn't mean to insult you Yadirf. However in my experience, most Jdub reasoning have no substance to them. If you want to discuss a subject I would be happy to although I don't believe the bible or the WT is the ultimate truth.
